Yves Behar of San Fransisco studio Fuseproject is the latest designer to create a watch for Japanese fashion brand Issey Miyake.
When designing the VUE watch, Behar had one question in mind: “Why do I need to see all twelve numbers when only one is needed?” As a result, the VUE clearly displays one hour at a time, gradually fading the previous hour from view as the next fades in.
The watch’s innovative construction features a glass lens that wraps around the side of the watch case before joining the stainless steel chassis, giving the watch a unique profile.
The VUE comes surrounded by a block of recycled paper and packaged in an acrylic case.
