the use of paper by isamu noguchi was the catalyst for the cross-cultural designs which emerged from the series. like all lamps in the series, the con qui is made completely by hand. plain sheets of handmade paper are transformed into different shapes by folding and pulling the paper. several years of development went into discovering the perfect texture for these pieces, lamps which are not so much designed, but shaped.
