“Not Riddled” features diamond-shaped doors which open and close without hinges. An uncut diamond looks like any common stone which no one would look at twice. It is the craftsmanship of the cutter that unveils the beauty lying within the stone. In “Not Riddled”, it has taken the skill of Steven Holl and HORM to shape a sheet of fabric-wood, using small laser incisions, enabling the forms to be forged and modelled.
The front and sides consist of fabric sandwiched into Canaletto walnut, eliminating the need for metal hinges, thus preserving the linearity of the structure.
The top and back are in white or black lacquered wood. “Not Riddled" is available in two different heights, with a single sheet of continuous wood creating the two sides and the four doors uninterrupted in its design, in keeping with the elegance and formal simplicity of this madia cabinet.
