The Eva Solo® Bag-In-Box carafe is a innovative product which offers a simple and
aesthetic design solution to serving boxed wine. The carafe is stylishly designed and holds the
same amount as conventional wine bottles, making it ideal for serving wine at table and keeping it
in the fridge.
Today, quality wines are not exclusively sold in bottles, and Bag-In-Box – or boxed – wine has found
its way into many homes. The boxes are practical, economical, can contain large volumes and solve
the problem of empty bottles piling up. However, despite the many obvious advantages offered by
boxed wine, Bag-In-Box containers are not the most elegant solutions to serving wine at table.
The Eva Solo® Bag-In-Box carafe offers a simple and stylish solution to this problem. The carafe is
made of glass and supplied in a practical 75 cl size, the standard volume of ordinary wine bottles.
The carafe enables you to see how much wine is being drunk, and it will also fit in most fridge
doors for keeping rosé and white wine cooled.
Unique shape
The carafe posed an exciting challenge for the design team behind the product: “Our aim has
been to make Bag-In-Box wine an acceptable alternative to bottled wine, and to bring it into the
open. Therefore we have designed a product which presents the wine attractively, prevents drips
and makes it possible to keep track of how much wine is being consumed,” say the designers from
Tools, who are responsible for all the popular Eva Solo products.
The carafe has a graceful shape with a stainless steel insert in the top. The mouth of the
carafe is intentionally wide to facilitate tapping Bag-In-Box wine into the carafe. At the same time,
the insert has a sharp rim which in effect ‘cuts’ the remaining drops, preventing drips and stains
when serving. The insert and the shape of the carafe also means that the wine is decanted when
transferring the wine from the box to the carafe.
The carafe also comes with a black silicone stopper, which can be
used to seal the flask so the wine can be kept until the following day.
The carafe is easy to clean and is dishwasher-safe.
